WPCandy Set To Publish First WP Centric Print Magazine

@Miroslav Glavic -

Please don’t take shipping personal. Americans don’t set the postage rates. Some bureuacratic entity controlled by Congress does :)

Where Are The Settings For That Plugin?

Top-level menus can be tricky and are a difficult decision for a plugin author.

I used to have a sub-menu under options-general (Settings), but found it incredibly difficult and counter-intuitive to create sub-sub pages, which would have been ideal.

To get around this, I created a top-level menu item for my plugin since it has, and will have several more, sub pages.

From a plugin author’s standpoint, all we are given is a priority argument. We have no control of the sorting.

For the settings link, that is pretty easy to add to the plugins page, and I did so with one of my more recent versions. But again, adding this in as not as easy as one would hope.

Paul,

The coupon is applied at checkout. Once you’re directed to Paypal, it should show the reduced price before purchasing.

Ajax Edit Comments For Just Five Bucks

Hey Jeff,

Thanks for the write-up. The plan is already proving fairly popular.

We imagine a lot of personal bloggers will love this option.

The bigger sites seem to like our subscription options, probably most due to the included support and free upgrades.

I’ll revisit this post in a month and let you know how this has worked out.

Who’s Right? Network Solutions Or Matt

@donnacha | WordSkill -

I wholeheartedly agree. A “WordPress Certified” host would go a long ways.

Write For People, Not For Spiders

A lot of SEO IMO comes with patience. If you write for people and have a good topic, the search engine traffic will come eventually.

Take my personal site for example. I rank #1 for a variety of keywords and phrases (example: good tip amount). Heck, my website shows up on the 2nd page of Google for “ronald”. Weird.

One thing I would recommend is to make good use of images in posts. I guesstimate 70% of my search engine traffic comes from Google image search, which is also the main source of my site comments.

It also helps that my site has been around since 2002.

Thanks for the tips Jeff.
