2012 Theme Customiser In WP 3.4

I didn’t expect the image to gather mainstream. ;) To clarify, where you would go to normally activate a new Theme, there’s a new option there called customise. Clicking that takes you to a different page, although I think it’s an iFrame (don’t quote me on that), which allows you to customise the look and feel of your Theme, right in front of your eyes. You can find out more in #19910.

WPCandy Set To Publish First WP Centric Print Magazine

@Ryan – I still go back to the point I made earlier, does Miroslav want the magazine for nothing or what? As I already mentioned, after Ryan (Imel) announced the magazine, many people commented on shipping; he took those comments on board and tweaked thing slightly, but like I said, you can’t go pleasing everybody!

At the end of the day it all boils down to how Ronald sums it up …

[...] blaming an individual for shipping rates isn’t fair.

… shipping will be shipping! :)

@Miroslav Glavic – I obviously can’t (and won’t) speak on Ryan’s behalf, but I’m almost upset you feel that way!? He’s tweaked the shipping price at least once, what more do you want, the magazine to cost nothing?

You can get each issue for $12 and shipping for each issue at $4 (for the UK anyway); which ultimately means you’re saving on shipping if you were to buy them individually! Sorry, but you need a better argument than that! Feel free to shoot me down, it’s not going to appeal to everyone, but complaining about the shipping now is just stupid IMHO!

Some Not Happy With Flyout Menus

I’m like yourself Jeff, I think they’re great, no problem here at all. Granted, it’s another change, and pretty much everyone hates change. It’ll always take time for people to get used to the new stuff, they’ll either like it, or they’ll not! — Saying that though, I can see the arguments people are making in that thread, the outcome is going to be interesting that’s for sure!

Pet Peeve – Akismet Configuration Link Location

While you only setup Akismet once for any particular site, you always expect it to fall under Settings (like many others have also said) but no, right there under Plugins is where you’ll find it hiding! ;)

Are they looking to move it into Jetpack in the near future, who knows; I’ve not read anything like that? — Settings > Akismet and that’ll do me (and everyone else!) :P

WordPress Theme Community In Comic Form

I like(d) the whole comic in general Jeff, and different reactions/interpretations are (as I’ll say again) very interesting to say the least. While my comment over at WooThemes never intended to massivly insult Chris and/or his business, it turns out I did! =/ If everyone viewed life exactly the same though, we’d get nowhere, so … ?!?

But I did find the WooNinja pretty quickly, so I win right? ;) LOL

Backup Buddy Is A Home Run

Well yeah, some plugin BackupBuddy is, and will be for some time to come with all the new features that’ll be heading it’s way soon and in the future! – Before I get into much detail Jeff, keep my comment out of the running for a possible freebie, thanks! :)

If I had to pick just 1 feature that I’m excited about, I just couldn’t, I’d take advantage of every single last bit of BackupBuddy, and more! The developers are really going to love the backup and migration you can do, and a new WordPress install isn’t even required for that, what more could the developer ask for?

Joel mentioned the WP-DB-Backup right up the top, yes I have used that plugin too, and I know that it’s downloadable for free. It does about 1/4 of what BackupBuddy does, maybe even less, those aren’t exact figures, just a rough guess!

You could say I was fortunate enough to beta-test BackupBuddy in the early stages, and thanks do go to Cory and the PluginBuddy.com Team for allowing me to have an input, even if the backup-over-email feature was going to be added anyway? :D

And in answer to Andrew just a couple of comments further up, I’d keep your eyes peeled, there is talk about integrating with Amazon S3 which I think you’ll be glad to hear!

I’d grab BackupBuddy with both hands, if you can, and get it setup today … unless you can look into the future, you never know when your host could take a turn for the worse!

First Signs Of WordPress Using BuddyPress With Project Wide Profiles

I’m alive and kicking too, although my activity is nill, you can still find me! – And like Leland, I too am curious as to how you add friends? I guess it’s still new, so that could very well be a bug, who knows? LOL

To Merge Or Not To Merge?

I caught the post that Lorelle made earlier myself, and if I’m being honest, both outcomes could be right! I know there was talk of WordPress.org becoming more of a community site, and I was also aware of BuddyPress becoming just the single plugin! – Until anything official (as such) comes to light, all we can do is speculate! ;)

Matt The Domain Guru Strikes Again

@Patrick D. – As Jeff says, it would be VERY hard to have a WordPress related domain if you couldn’t include WP in the domain! However, as they have stated on their site, they are happy with that just not the full!

I personally don’t think they could enforce people like that is because it could be something completely UNRELATED to WordPress, afterall, it’s just 2 letters!

Just my honest opinion though, each to their own! :)

Thanks
Mark
