Secrets Revealed: WLTC and WPTavern

As someone who was there in the early days of the podcast I’d love to see its return. You’re a natural at it Jeff! :)

WooThemes Excels At Customer Service During Crisis

@Brandon – I suspect there may be a minor backlash but nothing too severe. WooThemes has a fairly solid reputation in the WordPress community. Are they perfect? Heck no, none of us are. But they’ll learn from this experience.

@Jeffro – I for one enjoy the balance of content here. If I want tutorials 24/7 I know where to go. Opinion pieces, especially those that provoke discussion, I enjoy reading even though I don’t often comment. Keep posting the so-called “drivel”.

Thanks For Everything

I still recall being in chat while attending my first podcast – I was instantly hooked. It seems so long ago.

You’ve created something amazing here Jeff. The podcast, the site, the forum … all first class. You really did become the voice of WordPress.

Due to my heavy work schedule I wasn’t able to get online as often as I would like but this was my favourite refuge when I did.

You’re an awesome individual Jeff and I thank you for everything you have done in and for the community. I also wish you the absolute best in whatever you choose to do. You deserve it.

As we say up here in Canada, keep your head up and your stick on the ice.

Would You Like To Hear An Interview With Anil Dash?

Absolutely! I’d love to hear his thoughts. Just remind him though that this will be a serious interview – not a shoot ala pro-wrasslin where he has to be in character smacktalking WP and Matt. ;)

An Inside Glance At StudioPress

I’ve always been a big fan of Brian Gardner’s work going back to the Blue Zinfandel days. StudioPress is top notch. What else can be said?

Who’s Responsible For Keeping Your WordPress Site Up To Date?

@ Jeff – You’re right of course. I was dramatizing to make a point. :)

» Posted By Len On September 15, 2009 @ 9:52 PM

As I’ve stated many times on the WordPress forums, as a responsible webmaster (blogmaster?) it is incumbent for the end-user to stay uptodate. With running a DOT COM comes many responsibilities. You are responsible for maintenance, security etc. If this doesn’t float your boat then stick to Blogger.

Matt Living Up To His Job Title

Off topic but Conjunctured might want to update their WordPress install. People wonder why they get hacked.

What Is WordPress Bloat?

@Jeffro – Man that is a tough question and truth be told I’m kind of torn on the issue. On the one hand I want to see the core remain lean with extra functionality left up to plugins while on the other hand I’m not so sure that is a good idea from a security perspective. Plug “wordpress” in to the search engine at milw0rm some time and you’ll see what I mean.

» Posted By Len On February 9, 2009 @ 1:19 AM

I agree. You could ask a hundred people to define “bloat” and you’d get a hundred different definitions. In my mind core should be left as lean and mean as possible with added functionality left to plugins.
