Displaying 1 To 5 Of 5 Comments New Feature Pointers Slated For WordPress 3.3 Jeffro, thanks for the link! I bet you will love this video too! » Posted By Konstantin On September 22, 2011 @ 8:10 AM Should Automatic Upgrades Be Opt-In? Opt-out please. I like Ipstenu’s comment to use wp-config.php to determine that and ask whether to turn off updates when installing WordPress, just like with the “block search engines” bit. As a developer I’d love to use the latest features of WordPress and not have to worry about back-compatibility, so knowing that the majority is upgrading with every new WordPress release I’ll be able to use functions like So yes, I want automatic upgrades and I want them on by default. I’ll switch them off myself for larger projects where I carry out upgrades manually locally then test them on a staging server and finally deploy to production. So having an extra constant in my wp-config.php is nothing compared to what I already have to do to deploy :) ~ Konstantin » Posted By Konstantin On September 9, 2011 @ 5:41 AM Classic And Kubrick Have Left The Building I didn’t like Twenty Ten, the way it’s built, it’s easier to understand the whole process in Kubrik and Classic, TT is a little bit weird. I mean who builds themes with a file called loop.php? Although I did like the new outfit for the admin panel, it looks very shiny now ;) » Posted By Konstantin On March 30, 2010 @ 3:36 AM Should Themes Have Plugin Functionality Built-In? Depends.. On what functionality you’re looking for. Quick example – breadcrumbs. Breadcrumbs should be built into themes, page navigation too. Twitter widgets, contact forms, etc should be plugins, because they’re not essential. And don’t ask me to define essential ;) That’s my humble ;) ~ @kovshenin » Posted By Konstantin On February 10, 2010 @ 1:54 AM Plugin Review: Technical Support Great review Jeff!
