That could be helpful. » Posted By kim On January 10, 2012 @ 2:18 PM My Experience In Running A WordPress Meetup The NEO WordPress meetup is my local meetup. There’s not much of a tech community where I live, so I have to travel to get my WordPress fix. ;) I hope to be able to attend more in 2012, once my life settles down a bit. » Posted By Kim On January 7, 2012 @ 12:38 AM Makes me sad to read this, but I fully understand where you are coming from. Life has a way of throwing speed bumps at us that require a detour from our plans. Some detours are temporary, others permanent, and others lead us to what we really should have been doing with our lives all along. I know, as I’m in “temporary detour” mode right now. You’ve done so much for the WordPress community – the podcast, your blog posts and the Tavern have all brought WordPress to the attention of a lot of people who otherwise wouldn’t have become involved. You have much to be proud of. I want to thank you for allowing me to be a part of the podcast, whether as an audience member or as part of a guest panel on occasion. That allowed me to meet and become friends with some really awesome people, yourself included, that I otherwise might have never met or talked with. I do hope that you’ll come visit our NEO WordPress meetup group from time to time, when you’re able, to keep yourself somewhat involved with the WordPress project. Your voice will truly be missed. And to add to what the others have said – THANK YOU for everything. » Posted By Kim On May 18, 2011 @ 2:24 PM WordCamp Columbus Looking For More Speakers Actually, I am thinking about submitting a presentation but it would be for Saturday’s sessions. ;) I do hope that lots of folks will come to WordCamp Columbus and help make this year’s event the best one ever! » Posted By Kim On March 5, 2011 @ 7:02 AM Protecting WordPress Login Credentials From FireSheep @Otto: How does FireSheep impact someone who uses a VZW broadband modem as their internet connection? Is that type of connection vulnerable to FireSheep as well? » Posted By Kim On October 28, 2010 @ 7:43 PM WPWeekly Episode 94 – Commercial Themes Awesome episode, sorry I wasn’t able to hang in on the live recording past the first hour. Was great to hear how Brian, Cory and Jason got their start with WordPress. I agree with the others that Jeff and Jake make a great team. I think Jake would be a good fit to fill the co-host position left vacant when David Peralty stepped down. » Posted By Kim On April 6, 2010 @ 11:34 AM Kudos to Corey and company for such an awesome plugin! Would love to have a Developer’s copy. :) » Posted By Kim On March 4, 2010 @ 3:01 PM My Thoughts On WordPress Weekly I’m with Justin. The Friday night timeslot was great for me – the work week was over, and I could kick back and relax and enjoy both the recorded show and the after-show. It’s a bit more work for me to make the Tuesday timeslot, but I’ve been trying to get it worked in the past few weeks. I think the weekend slot should work out, just not sure which day is better for everyone. I could probably make it either day. If you pick Sunday, you might want to make it at 3pm, as folks who attend church may not be home for a 1pm show start. Just my thoughts… » Posted By Kim On February 3, 2010 @ 2:05 PM Congrats to Josh on winning – he definitely brought his “A” game! This was fun! Do you plan on doing something like this again later this year? » Posted By Kim On January 6, 2010 @ 8:57 PM WPWeekly Episode 80 – Interview With Raphael Mudge @Jeffro – Thank you. :) » Posted By Kim On December 11, 2009 @ 6:47 PM @Jeffro – Revisiting this thread and noticed that the correct answer to the trivia question wasn’t given, nor have the points been updated yet. Maybe over the weekend you’ll have time to do that? :) » Posted By Kim On December 11, 2009 @ 4:20 PM @JLeuze – French Vanilla is my favorite. Also love Pumpkin ice cream in the fall – tastes just like a pumpkin pie! » Posted By Kim On December 2, 2009 @ 3:54 PM My guess at the trivia question: Going to have to agree with Josh. Favorite flavor of ice cream is Mint Chocolate Chip. » Posted By Kim On December 2, 2009 @ 1:36 PM WPWeekly Episode 79 – Alex King And WPHelpCenter Missed the show (will listen later), but I’ll take a stab at the trivia question anyway: WordPress.org itself runs on WordPress MU. » Posted By Kim On November 18, 2009 @ 12:37 PM WPWeekly Episode 78 – CoPress And The FairField Mirror I’m a bit stumped as well, but I’m going to take a stab at the trivia question as well. I think the first forum software to use a css-based layout rather than tables was Vanilla. » Posted By Kim On November 5, 2009 @ 12:09 AM WPWeekly Episode 74 – SimplePie Disappears – Leaves Crumbs Behind Welcome back to the show Jeff! You and David covered a lot of ground in this episode. Too bad I wasn’t able to be there to listen in live. My answer for the trivia question comes from the WordPress Codex article about version 2.3: Developer / Power User Stuff http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_2.3#Developer_.2F_Power_User_Stuff » Posted By Kim On September 30, 2009 @ 1:11 PM Jeff, have a safe trip and a great time! And yes, pictures are a must!! lol » Posted By Kim On September 19, 2009 @ 6:02 PM WPWeekly Episode 71 – Running A Business Around WordPress @JLeuze – Nope, I had to bail out shortly after the show ended. Tuesdays are workdays for me, and I still had things to do before bedtime. How long did the aftershow last? » Posted By Kim On September 9, 2009 @ 1:56 PM Did get to tune in last night for the live show (finally!). Enjoyed hearing from Jonathan about his thoughts on commercial plugins and his future plans. My answer for the trivia question: Robert Scoble Matt’s comment on Scoble’s FriendFeed post about WordPress Worm: wolly, Robert was hosted on WordPress.com for about 4 years — he was actually the very first VIP. Although there were dozens of security updates to WordPress in that time, his blog never had a problem because it was always up-to-date. He only switched away a few months ago. – Matt Mullenweg http://friendfeed.com/scobleizer/cd43c6c3/i-dont-feel-safe-with-wordpress-hackers-broke-in » Posted By Kim On September 9, 2009 @ 1:12 PM First Signs Of WordPress Using BuddyPress With Project Wide Profiles @Jeffro – Someone leaked it on Twitter a couple of months back. Can’t remember who it was though. *hate getting old* » Posted By Kim On September 3, 2009 @ 8:26 PM I’d seen the very beginnings of this a couple of months back. Glad to see that they’re moving forward with this – going to be really nice! I’d add you as a friend, but I can’t seem to find any way to do that ATM. Am I missing something obvious or have they disabled that ability for the moment? Trivia question answer via Wayback Machine (http://web.archive.org/web/20051031024125/http://akismet.com/): Live Spam Zeitgeist They had 2 pages archived for that day, so I picked the one that was later in the day to use for my answer. **crossing fingers that I picked the right one…lol** » Posted By Kim On September 3, 2009 @ 7:07 AM WPWeekly Episode 69 – Grava what Answer to this week’s trivia: From his Sitepoint interview, Matt’s answer to the question was: “Synchronization, or some sort of contextual text analysis for grammar and spell-checking. Maybe something with anti-spam again like Akismet.” http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=631389 » Posted By Kim On August 22, 2009 @ 1:33 PM Listener Poll: What Day Of The Week Should I Record WordPress Weekly? Jeff, I understand the need to accommodate everyone’s schedules (yours, David’s, and the guests) fully. My only concern is that everyone is used to the show being on Friday nights, and a change could cause some confusion, especially for your live audience. It’s nice having alot of folks show up during the recording of the show, whether they’re on the call or not, and I’d hate to see you lose that part of the show if those folks wouldn’t be able to attend on a different night. If it’s scheduled on a week night (Tuesday or Thursday), I think the aftershow won’t go nearly as long, as most folks have to work the next day. Both parts (live show and aftershow) for WP Weekly are great – we’ve had wonderful conversations during the aftershow that we might lose if it wasn’t on Friday night. All that being said, it’s your decision and we’ll respect whatever choice you make. » Posted By Kim On July 31, 2009 @ 10:36 AM WPWeekly Episode 65 – Interview With Nikolay Of GlotPress Looks like I might get 2nd place this time. :) Matt serves as or has served as an advisor to Sphere, WeGame, Rescuetime, and Foodzie. (from http://ma.tt/about/) You need to change the post title – this was episode 66. » Posted By Kim On July 26, 2009 @ 10:00 AM WPWeekly Episode 64 – Big Huge Round Table And I’ll add my response to the trivia question: Toni was CEO of Oddpost before it was acquired by Yahoo. http://www.crunchbase.com/person/toni-schneider » Posted By Kim On July 18, 2009 @ 5:17 AM WPWeekly Episode 63 – Interview With Randy Hoyt And Scott Clark Enjoyed the show as well – was really cool that there was a group of folks with Randy and Scott listening to the interview live.
