Good Or Bad? Infinite Scrolling

I have never been a fan of it. But like mentioned above, it does makes sense for Image searches. But elsewhere, I don’t think it’s appropriate. A friend of mine fancies tumblr for the infinite scrolling (well, it’s sort of something you need to do manually) – but there’s no page 2 on the dashboard there. Sadly, the little netbook she’s using couldn’t handle it and had the browser crashed. Not so fancy.

WordUp – A Fork Of WordCamp

@donnacha of WordSkill -

What a pity.. I think that explains why we have no WordCamps anymore here in the Philippines.. No announcement has been made this year about a WordCamp “Philippines”. </3

No More Ad Free WPCandy

WPCandy consists of a very active and dedicated team, no doubt about that. But there’s always been this little something that bugs me about them.. I don’t know what it is exactly, yet I’m sure the one who removed them from the WordPress news feeds and I have the same feeling.

Thanks For Everything

I don’t know what to say, but I just had to comment.

I wish you well in your personal life and hope you could bounce back somehow into the WordPress Community. The community needs people like you who are truly dedicated in serving the community.

In my opinion you’ve done far greater than a good number of developers who fork around with the WordPress code, because thoughts of you and I, the people who don’t code is what makes WordPress better. Without our voices, there would be nothing to code.

I don’t know what to say.. I sound silly now. It really makes me feel sad… I’ve always listened to your podcasts whenever I could on my iPod Touch. I still remember those glorious days… You’ve been the first and only WordPress podcast (and podcast in general) that I’ve anticipated and listened to from start to finish.

Good luck in your future plans, and, hope to see you around again on the web!

WPWeekly Episode75 – Davids Last Show

I seriously think that the idea about charging for a forum sucks. Indeed, you have a vibrant community around your boards, lots of great people around, but I don’t think that all will stick around when the paid wall crosses their way into the forums, and even more do I believe that the growth will be nonexistent too.

I mean, you’ve got a great forum, but there’s no “real value” that people should pay for using it. You need something catchy on it (something I can’t think about right now) before you push through with this idea. It’s especially a bit odd to imagine to have a paid forum for WORDPRESS which is a GPL software. It makes WordPress look more and more premium if you’ll join the bandwagon of designers, authors and plugin authors “I am not earning and need to make money from WordPress Users”.

Listener Poll: Is WordPress A Community Run Project?

WordPress is a theme and plugin author run project that slowly turns to a commercial mess with all the plugin and theme authors going commercial GPL.

Wake up, you started in the first place to contribute to the community with what you have been doing. And goign GPL erases the FREE in WordPress since WordPress would be nothing without the great plugins (that sooner or later you’re having to pay for)

Interview With Ryan Imel Of CommentBits.com

Another paid service rolling out (but pretty reasonable)
But no thanks for me, I’d rather import the comment form of other GPL themes to my themes to have it look great or start to mess with the code around on my own.

Why bbPress Is Good For SEO

@Will Anderson – It might be a good avenue for developers to jump in to the development but for average users (like, let’s say my classmates of non-geeks) won’t come to appreciate the beauty that we all know about the software, that’s why it doesn’t suits the requirements and expectations of my users (yet)

bbPress is truly awesome and has taken (and wasted) much time of mine to integrate it wit my WordPress blog and get the permalinks going. I’m not saying it is not good, I really mean it’s awesome but maybe just a bit to young for me to use it.

WPWeekly Episode 61 – Could WordPress.com Ever Rebrand?

Hey there,

Have been listening to all the latest episodes via iTunes on my iTouch while I went here and there, and I have spit some coffee on a early morning when I heard on that June 12 episode that Matt tried to GPL a stake LOL but anyways..

About this episode, either of the two WordPress should rebrand, but I’d like to see WordPress.Com become wp.com -the vacant domain that they have that redirects to WordPress.Com- because it is very short and friendly and because it would lesser the confusion between the Open Source WordPress Project and the WP Service.

I have a lot of Blogspot Bloggers around here who say that WordPress sucks because you cannot add advertisement and it is obvious that they refer to the free hosting service of Automattic. If WordPress.Org would rebrand, I’d see a lot of blogs going down who blog about WordPress and rebranding themselves as well, kinda headache for everyone who is truly involved in the project in their own unique ways, add to it all the plugin names that have to be renamed as well.. Geeeek..

Listener Poll: Do You Know The Difference Between WordPress.com And WordPress.org?

@Jeffro – What is now left is to educate the thousands of others about the difference of the two :p
I’m starting preaching the vast differences of WordPress.Com and WordPress.Org here by sorting things out with people who flame about WordPress(.Com) because they cannot ad their own advertisements while other WordPress(.Org) Users have their own advertisements displayed wherever and however they like. (LOL)
