Displaying 661 To 690 Of 718 Comments WordPress 2.7 A Milestone In Its Own Right @Ryan – I think there was some word that all or most tickets for 2.7.2 have been closed. Not sure if that is correct or not. I wonder if 2.7.2 will be needed or if we’ll go right to 2.8. » Posted By Jeffro On March 10, 2009 @ 3:06 PM WordPress Forums To Be Revamped Soon? @Ryan – Well, I don’t need the WordPress.org forums to be anything like Vbulletin or PHPBB but for goodness sakes, I’d love it if the forum provided the tools necessary to make them useful not only for finding information, but keeping abreast as to new threads I have created, new replies, etc. » Posted By Jeffro On March 10, 2009 @ 3:05 PM @Justin Tadlock – Ok, I can see your point of view. I guess I really shouldn’t have grouped both in the same conversation but for some reason, felt it was warranted. I know Matt has said that BBPress is sort of at the position WordPress was a few years ago. As for WPTavern using BBPress, I’ve made the investment into VBulletin and the chances are slim to none on this site ever using the software. So I suppose since I don’t use the software or have used the software, that doesn’t leave me much room to talk lol. » Posted By Jeffro On March 9, 2009 @ 3:55 AM Small Preview Of WordPress 2.8 @bob – You can download the latest nightly build from here http://wordpress.org/download/nightly/ » Posted By Jeffro On April 14, 2009 @ 8:05 PM Episode 44 – Interview With Brian Gardner @JLeuze – I agree. That would be a win-win situation. Great themes for the repository and one or two particular themes bundled with WordPress. But you know something, you may be right. @Kim – Yeah hopefully the Friday the 13th show won’t implode on me heh. Glad the recorded interview was not interrupted though. » Posted By Jeffro On March 7, 2009 @ 3:50 PM IntenseDebate Is Getting Plugged In @Patrick D. – Well, I’ve never come across a site where the page takes forever to load because of IntenseDebate on their blog. » Posted By Jeffro On March 10, 2009 @ 3:25 PM @BlaKKJaKK – Well, the third party service argument is sort of moot considering that ID automatically syncs comments made on the service to your WordPress blog so when you turn the plugin off, you still have all of those comments in your database. I’m still on the side of handling comments on my own blog. » Posted By Jeffro On March 10, 2009 @ 3:10 PM @Patrick D. – Hmm, I didn’t think of it that way. It’s a third party service with plugin support but I guess if you use the ID plugin for your blog, then it can be a plugin with plugin support which does sound funny! » Posted By Jeffro On March 7, 2009 @ 3:52 PM New WordPress Book For Plugin Development @Andrew – Looking forward to giving it a read to see if I can understand any of it. But like I said, maybe dummies will give me a head start. @Lisa – Great to hear Lisa. As we talked about last night, you mentioned you were not exactly a coder so I’ll be interested in getting your perspective on the book has helped you. » Posted By Jeffro On March 7, 2009 @ 3:53 PM WordPress Store To Get A Revamp @Conorp – Yeah, or all version of WordPress that have ever been released to the public. That would be cool. » Posted By Jeffro On March 7, 2009 @ 3:54 PM @Michael Torbert – If you can attend a WordCamp in your area, they usually have a bunch of general schwag like pens, t-shirts, and buttons or stickers. » Posted By Jeffro On March 6, 2009 @ 3:51 AM @Michael Torbert – Nope, I have no inside information on what that means. Sounds good though. Maybe mouse pads or something? I do plan on asking Matt about the store when he comes on the show. » Posted By Jeffro On March 6, 2009 @ 3:45 AM WP Ajax Edit Comments Gets New Dev @Ajay – No problem, glad to see you’re the one taking it over. @Patrick D. – Me too. I would love for comment editing like this to be integrated into the core some how as currently, I don’t think you can edit comments by default. » Posted By Jeffro On March 7, 2009 @ 3:55 PM Brian Gardner On WordPress Weekly @Will Anderson – I have amended the post. Sometimes I use words because they sound good but after looking up the definition of the word ‘infamous’ I realized the big mistake I made :(. Thanks for catching that. » Posted By Jeffro On March 4, 2009 @ 5:36 AM What I Learned From WordCamp Denver @Dave Moyer – Yeah, although a group of us were talking about the stream both in your Ustream chat room and the forum chat room. We did start a retweet a thon giving the stream more coverage heh. » Posted By Jeffro On March 3, 2009 @ 7:32 PM @JD Hartley – Well, I think it doesn’t matter who makes the theme, if it’s bundled into WordPress people are going to use it as a starting point. That’s just the way it goes. » Posted By Jeffro On March 7, 2009 @ 3:59 PM Someone At WPDesigner Wants Your Money @Jessie – Yeah, sounds like a Paypal auto renew reminder thing they have setup. That should have been turned off when the refunds were dished out. @Christina Warren – Valid points and good criticism. Just seems more and more like someone over their has a sort of malicious intent. » Posted By Jeffro On March 2, 2009 @ 4:11 PM @The Frosty @WPCult – Nope we did not meet. We did exchange a message or two over Twitter. I followed the coverage of the event from Twitter and the BitWire Live streaming coverage. I guess the internet connection wasn’t too good in the first half of the day but was fixed after lunch. » Posted By Jeffro On March 2, 2009 @ 4:12 PM WPWeekly Episode 43 – Glimpse At WordPress 2.8 @Tom Johnson – Thank you very much Tom for the kind words. Always appreciative of those. Thank you for being a long time listener! » Posted By Jeffro On March 6, 2009 @ 6:27 PM @Nathan Rice – Hey Nathan what’s happening. Considering you’re in the business of selling themes, I’m willing to take your word for it. It just seems to me that there are still plenty of sites selling premium theme single site licenses for under 100$. Everyone sells multi site licenses for over 100$ so that’s no surprise to me. I can’t believe there are that many people that purchase the multi site license. Not only is it expensive, but are their that many people who need to use the same theme on multiple blogs? » Posted By Jeffro On February 27, 2009 @ 1:46 PM WPDesigner Breathes And Then Dies @Brad – Yeah I feel the same way. Thank goodness all of the articles are still their as an archive. @Kel – You’re telling me. That site had a rich community and it all fell apart. @Andrew – Yeah, I was glad to see Small Potato give everyone their 5$ back after the new owner failed to continue working on the site and theme club. @Ryan Imel – He has left a comment or two on the site back in December of 2008 and there was a rumor that he would be working on something with another member of the WordPress community but we’ll have to see. @Andrea_R – That is another weird thing, someone is continuing to pay the bills but yet, not add content that is not an affiliate ad. @Ryan – We should plug the domain into Compete.com and checkout their traffic graphs to see how its leveled off. » Posted By Jeffro On February 27, 2009 @ 1:53 PM Cliff Note Version Of WordCamp Germany @Miroslav Glavic – I’m pretty sure you can hide those modules and most likely, change the RSS feed that is displayed in those modules to something of your choosing. @JellyBeen – Or just watch the video I embedded here :) I think there is a part two to this video on WordPress.tv where he answers questions. @Will Anderson – Yeah, CodePress :) I need to setup my local WordPress install to run trunk again so I can see CodePress in action. » Posted By Jeffro On February 27, 2009 @ 2:24 PM @Craiger – Hehe, they have been up for quite awhile now, you might have caught them off guard or something. The list is working for me. » Posted By Jeffro On February 27, 2009 @ 2:03 PM @JLeuze – LOL, the pain I subject myself too with each redesign is starting to take its toll! » Posted By Jeffro On February 22, 2009 @ 3:59 PM WordPress 2.7.1 Available To The Public @Kel – Hmm, I seem to be experiencing the same issue others are in that, the upgrade screen is telling me that I’m using the most up to date version of the software with no upgrade available » Posted By Jeffro On February 10, 2009 @ 7:11 PM WordPress Tattoo Using The Wrong Logo? @Viper007Bond – Exactly the type of response I was expecting and well deserved :) Funny thing is though, some folks in the forum are stating that the Tattoo does indeed sport the wrong logo. » Posted By Jeffro On February 10, 2009 @ 4:45 AM Is It Time To Refocus The Dashboard For News? @Michael Torbert – Yes, that argument could be made. And you’re right, if it bothers people that much they can remove that news or change the FEED url to something they like. But, I think an even better solution is Matt aggregating a WordPress category or tag from his blog. However, I wonder if it is beneficial to the community as a whole to look at their dashboard in the backend of WordPress and realize Matt just went on a trip to Paris and he has cool photos. With all due respect, the widget is called Other WordPress News and I think pictures from a trip Matt took to Paris falls out of that category. Now, we all know WordPress is Matt’s baby and he going to do what he damn well pleases, he has that right. But, is he really doing the right thing by having that non-WordPress related information showing up in areas where people want WordPress information? » Posted By Jeffro On February 10, 2009 @ 3:41 AM @marti garaughty – The more I think about it, the more I like Weekly Buzz as well. Short, too the point and of course, Buzz fits into the Tavern nomenclature :) Thanks for the feedback » Posted By Jeffro On February 10, 2009 @ 1:50 AM @tekzt – You’re correct. Most of the development for the service was centered around getting the Ping service to work as quickly as possible since at one point in time, sending out the pings became the slowest point in actually publishing a blog post. I think the Ping-O-Matic website is just a sign of what was. I was thinking about the site just disappearing while leaving the service available to use through the RPC link but then, people outside of WordPress would not be able to easily use the service which is probably why the site is still online. @Chip Bennett – When I submitted my sites on the Ping-O-Matic site, all of the pings were sent just fine although I don’t have any details as to whether or not the sites received the ping update. Do you guys know if your blog sends out pings if you simply update a post? » Posted By Jeffro On February 8, 2009 @ 4:17 PM Anyone Ever Hear Of A Server Drive? @tekzt – Thanks. There are a bunch of cool WordPress quotes out their. I just need to find them and put them on display here. » Posted By Jeffro On February 8, 2009 @ 4:18 PMComments Posted By Jeffro
