I’m Going To Boston

@strebel – Yeah. I’m looking forward to going and am pretty interested in this particular panel session.

@Ryan Imel – Nice. Will be cool to hook up and chat again.

WPWeekly Episode 81 – Interview With Jacob Goldman

@John Eckman – Great photo. That is me in the grey. It looks like I’m holding a bandage over my left hand and I’m actually grilling Matt lol.

Hmm, how in the world did you guys manage to find the answer so fast?

What Is The Weakest Link Of WordPress?

You know, a LOT of people are unaware that as long as they have a user login, they too can update the codex. Someone will look it over. there’s no need to worry too much about “doing it wrong”. :)

This will actually be the focus of my upcoming guide on using the Codex.

WPWeekly Episode 80 – Interview With Raphael Mudge

@Kim – The correct answer was ‘Mint Chocolate Chip:’ and the points have been updated.

I’m a fan of any ice cream that has brownie bits and chunks in it. Also don’t mind the occasional cookie dough ice cream as well. Every now and then, I get my fix by eating some Ben And Jerrys Cherry Jubilee.

@JLeuze – They have a plugin available for IntenseDebate but not one for the default comment form. I guess it would be pretty cool if there was a button next to Preview on the comment form called Proofread which would submit the comment to AtD to be checked. I’ll ask Raffi or get him to comment here to see if this is already possible or if it’s in the pipeline.

» Posted By Jeffro On December 2, 2009 @ 12:48 PM

@JLeuze – Is what? You didn’t give an answer LOL

Can A Theme Developer Put Himself Out Of Business?

@John Hawkins – This entire issue was actually something that the Ithemes team pondered for awhile before releasing the beta but it looks like they want it to enable exactly what you describe. A way to create awesome WordPress sites in rapid fashion.

WPWeekly On Tap For December

@donnacha | WordSkill – Yeah, so am I. That guy is full of energy. I’m definitely going to ask him what the heck is morning routine is so I can copy it.

New York Matt Mullenweg Interview

@Chip Bennett – When you say turn it over to the community, what do you mean? A representative voted upon by the community to head the theme repository? Same for plugins? Will we then have to worry about corruption just like the government?

WPWeekly Episode 79 – Alex King And WPHelpCenter

@JLeuze – I was just as shocked as anyone when Matt told me the answer. I’m hoping a new WordPress.org redesign takes a page out of the BuddyPress.org site which I find to be greatly designed around the project.

» Posted By Jeffro On November 29, 2009 @ 1:43 PM

With regards to the trivia question, I asked Matt at WordCamp New York if WordPress.org was not powered by bbPress then what was it powered by. The WordPress.org website is comprised of static HTML files which can be validated by looking at the source code. So Oliver Schlöbe got it right by saying it was all handmade. Mind you, this is about the WordPress.org site not anything connected to it such as the forums, codex, etc.

Also since you’re the only one to get it right, I’ll double your points so this week, you get 6.

» Posted By Jeffro On November 29, 2009 @ 1:34 PM

@JLeuze – Wow dude, you’re like a hawk! That’s the fastest I’ve ever seen a comment after a post went live LOL. With regards to the trivia question, I only want to know what powers WordPress.org and not the external components such as Extend or the Forums. Only the site itself.

Would You Like To Hear An Interview With Anil Dash?

@Anil – Well said Anil. So far, looks like there is interest in having you on the show. I better get cracking on securing a date :)

WPWeekly Episode 78 – CoPress And The FairField Mirror

Being this is WordPress related trivia, I thought this would be easy question to answer or at least guess. Based on my readings of an interview as well as some wikipedia entries, the correct answer is bbPress. If you want, I can link to the material where I got the answer from.

Should WordPress Change The Blog Nomenclature Within The Backend?

@Otto – Are you calling me stupid? Just making sure :)

» Posted By Jeffro On November 5, 2009 @ 1:22 PM

@donnacha | WordSkill -You chose to go the short and sweet route eh?

» Posted By Jeffro On November 3, 2009 @ 8:35 PM

@One Fine Jay – Sounds like you’re all for installation profiles which many people, especially consultants would love but I can’t remember the progress on that idea except that it won’t be soon.

» Posted By Jeffro On November 3, 2009 @ 7:16 PM

@Ozh – I don’t want to see WordPress labeled as anything to be honest. That’s why I’m for generic terms providing some flexibility for it to be labeled whatever someone wants to label. I don’t want to make a big issue out of something so small but if there were was a nomenclature change, I think it would have a big impact on the perception front despite the showcase and what have you.

» Posted By Jeffro On November 3, 2009 @ 7:10 PM

@One Fine Jay – Maybe so. I have no idea. We would be able to have a better answer if we knew what the future was going to be like for WordPress as a platform than just the best blogging engine available. Is the software’s goal to continue to be a kick ass blog publishing system or has it expanded to be much more than that? If it’s supposed to be more, than the nomenclature all around has lagged behind.

» Posted By Jeffro On November 3, 2009 @ 7:07 PM

@Spamboy – Yeah, I mean the WordPress showcase does a good job showing what the software is capable of doing so the nomenclature should in no way suggest that WordPress is only meant for blogging but I can understand where that line of thought could come from. Still, I think it would just be good all around for generic terms to be used.

WordCamp NYC Tickets Now Available

@Adam W. Warner – I’m actually staying with a friend so I’m unsure as to whether there are any deals to be had in New York. From the looks of things, everything about this event cost a ton of money.

Introducing WordCamp 360

Well, I have barely kept the page up to date thanks to no time. So, I’ve put the page into draft status for now.

» Posted By Jeffro On November 29, 2009 @ 1:25 PM

@Andrea_R – I might have to play around with it so that everything shows up on the top of the page without scrolling but other than that, it’s come out pretty well.

My Bid For Advanced Exporter Into Core

@John Myrstad – Yeah. I knew it had no shot in getting in with 2.9 but with Rons work I think it stands a very good chance coming with 3.0

» Posted By Jeffro On October 16, 2009 @ 2:12 PM

@Andrea_R – Right. The 3.0 branch won’t be created until WordPress 2.9 hits RC1

» Posted By Jeffro On October 13, 2009 @ 6:59 PM

@John Myrstad – Yeah even donncha suggested that with a few changes, it could get into core. Some of those changes Ron has already put into the plugin so I don’t think this will be that hard to incorporate into WordPress 3.0. Then again, what do I know.

Nomad-One Interviews Six Great Theme Developers

@Andrew – If I told rather than ask, then it would defeat the purpose of me even asking right?

@Cristian – Interesting since I’ve never taken a course in journalism nor have I read into it. I’m just doing what feels natural. I love asking the audience questions because the audience is much smarter than me :)

@Jeremy – I have my opinions, but I think I do a good job not trying to push any one agenda. Sure, I’ve come across a thing or two I heavily favor to be included in core but if I feel it should be there, I’m going to push for it and discuss with people why I think that’s the way it should be. If it doesn’t make it, oh well. Had fun talking about it lol.

@Danny G Smith – Yeah, I was in the middle alright but it was hard for me to come down on one side or the other because of my lack of knowledge regarding the subject. Prior to getting involved with WordPress, I thought GPL was just another funny acronym. I never thought it meant as much as I do now.

@John Myrstad – How long do you think this enthusiasm will last?

@Andrea_R – Someone has to do it. Although I’ve seen a couple of messy fights but after a trip to the ER they come back ready to talk again!

@Ian Stewart – I was very very close I thought to getting WPTavern into the dashboard and onto PlanetWordPress. I had a few back and forth emails with Matt shortly after my dentist appointment. I had to make a few changes to my advertising structure and such which I complied and I thought I was finally going to be listed on planet WordPress for the WordPress category. Unfortunately, it has yet to happen. Not sure if I did something wrong, said something wrong, or he forgot about it.
