    Default Multi-domain Network with sub-folders

I have a client who wants to setup a series of WordPress powered sites via a network, but they only want WordPress powering a sub-folder of each site, eg: http://domain.com/blog/ and http://domain2.com/blog/. The root of each domain will be powered by some sort of e-commerce software.

Any ideas on how to do this?

    You can't map folders.

it's not a limitation of WordPress either, it's just the entire process. See blogger ;) and their recent switch to disallow ftp. If someone had a domain.com/blog/ Blogger is now telling them to use a subdomain.

And with a network, it has to run in the root of the install, not a "I have something else in the root".

The kludgiest way I can get close to it is to use a multi-network plugin to get the /blog for each domain. (because picking the subfolder option will give you this on the main blog of each network). But you still have the issue of the ecommerce software, which you could *link to* from the "root" (each domain's main theme), but not have run there. This is also with all the domains living on this one server.

I'll just tell them to use a sub-domain then :)
