Wordpress MU wide users

So can we have site wide wordpress users (subscribers)?

I'm asking in order to have "Login To Comment" functionality across all blogs of the installation.

Any pointers will be welcomed!

Yep, default behavior in MU> Throws some people too, as they ask how to make all users subscribers to all blogs. :D No need!

Further clarification: a user who logs in is logged in across the site. They only need to be a subscriber on one blog to log in. IOW, there isn't a sitewide subscriber feature, but that doesn't prohibit users from commenting.
