Heh, thanks, but I wasn't using a plugin. This was a functionality I wanted to include in my theme. I'm removing it for now and will hopefully be able to come up with a work-around later.

I think andrea_r was suggesting trying the plugins to see how they did it. Hopefully it would just be a matter of copy and pasting the code into your theme.

I had actually gotten the code here. I re-visited his site this morning and found that the code had been updated since my initial visit to fix the comment bug.
