Icon8 Changed original administrator – lost gravatar

As a security precaution I change the log in of the original administrator on my single author blog: http://robcubbon.com/blog

Of course, when you do that you have to create a new admin User with a different email address as it doesn't allow two Users to have the same email.

I deleted the old administrator and assigned the posts to the new one and changed the email address of the new administrator. Unfortunately the author's comments in the comments section now have a default gravatar associated with them not the original gravatar associated with the old administrator – although the email address is the same and I believe gravatars are "defined" by the email address?

I have googled around for a solution to this and I have tried the WordPress forums and the Gravatar support – no luck.

    Anybody any ideas?

You'll need to modify the database directly, and change the User ID for each comment from the old admin user to the new admin user.

Thanks, Chip, I'm afraid I wimped out and restored the DB. I wouldn't know how to do the above.
