    Default Dead slugs

I'm having trouble setting slugs for static pages on my site:

    http://catherineandchloe.co.uk

If I set the slug to, say, 'introduction' I get 'page not found'.

If I set the slug to 'index.php/introduction' (which I'd rather not as it doesn't look so good) it works but breaks all the images.

So I'm stuck with numerical URLs and the friend I'm making this for is not happy with that. Any ideas? I'm running WP 3.2.1 on IIS 6.

Fixed this by migrating to linux.

I already had IIS as the culprit before I read you were using it lol. For IIS based servers, there are some special needs that have to be met for slugs or permalinks to work correctly. You can read all about it via http://codex.wordpress.org/Using_Permalinks but migrating to Linux is probably the better option in the long run.
