Those plugins I mentioned are all compatible with 3.0. Otherwise I would not have mentioned them.

I use them. I use 3.0.1. They work fine.

The plugin version compatibility thing doesn't really work, because a good plugin that is written well often doesn't need to be updated for long stretches. So the version number that it was last checked with doesn't much matter.

@Otto - I appreciate your suggestions but for one reason or another, the Simple Trackback Validation does *not* work for us - on 3.0

There is an error:

Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

Becasue you have two copies: one in the mu-plugins folder and one in the plugins folder.

Yeah, I would avoid using mu-plugins except for special cases. Network Activation works just as well, really. And it allows the upgrader to work properly.
