help I killed my website!

This is a little embarrassing, but since this afternoon, I can't access my website, it returns a Database connection error.
"Error establishing a database connection"

Could it be because I installed WordPress MU to a subdomain of this site?
I deleted the WPMU, but still get the error
please help!

That's pretty hard to bug fix without more information.

Perhaps check your wp-config.php file is setup correctly in case the database settings have got messed up.

yes!

actually when I created the WP MU site, I accidentally changed the user's password, as it was the same user for both DBs
I reset the password and I can access the site again.

Make sure the MySQL service is running on your server/host... That can often output that error message.
