Thanks Hakre. I didn't realise that function existed. I've used much more borked/complex approaches to doing that in the past.

Well the actual shortcode should be very easy to implement. The question is, how to you tell your users, which widgets are available and how the configuration parameters can be used? So this then starts to be some more lines of code... .
