    Icon1 Case studies ?

May WP case studies be a suitable topic for the site, forum and podcasts ? In my opinion case studies or indepth site reviews are the blank spot in the WP "documentation community".

Maybe its possible to discuss outstanding WP based sites in the forum, and invite devs/designers to participate, make a podcast/interview and publish a case study article, that may be discussed further in the forum afterwards ?

Forum thread for outstanding sites > site discussion > invite dev/designer to participate > podcast/interview > case study article > more forum discussions

I think it might work out well, if members participate in early stages ( to much work for Jeffr0 if not ) and devs/designers may appreciate their work getting exposure.

A case study found via Ian Stewarts tweets:

Opinions ? Other case study urls ?

I would love to do case studies like that. I like your template for it as well.

outstanding sites > site discussion > invite dev/designer to participate > podcast/interview > case study article > more forum discussions

I think a good first candidate to give this a try on is B5 Media and their use of WPMU and BuddyPress/bbPress. JoeTek could probably be a large help in the case study. As would Brian Layman.

Nice to hear you like my proposal. I thought nobody did since there were no replies ;)

WordPress showcase is a nice place to pick some of the case study objects. These are sites that have some buzz in the WP sphere so it should be some potential in getting visitors by doing case studies on them. ( In particular the popular ones )

If you have a well organized template for the case studies it will be easier to make the studies and the interview/podcasts.

The first stydy should be some site that everybody knows, to kick off the project and make some buzz. I would pick a site like Smashing Magazine, they have 141000 subscribers and its not too complex and easy to analyze: http://w3-markup.com/examples/smashi...zine.com/index

Maybe its possible to do studies on all of the featured most popular and most voted at WP showcase. Some of these sites may provide a backlink/article and have lots of readers which will be highly motivated to check out the case study and maybe you visit you regularly.
