    Default Wordpress Ping List

I've had some clients ask me about their Wordpress ping list, what to have or not have in the list, and I've come across some people (this year) touting *how great* having a huge WP ping list is. I can't disagree more - and wrote this post to back it up:

My question is - what do you think? Are you still using a "ping list" even though a large number of places aren't even accepting them anymore?

    Nice read!

I think you just gave me some good ideas for how to update/improve the Ping Optimizer plugin. I've been mulling it over for quite a while, for several reasons. And, it gives me some direction for some suggested core patches that might one day (hopefully) make the plugin obsolete!

I leave mine empty. XML-RPC pings are dead. Use PushPress and RSSCloud plugins instead, and you'll get much better results.

Wow, my intent was not to get a response from Mr. cbnet himself! I'm glad the post could be of some help - I get asked about "ping lists" far too much.

There's really nothing much special about "Mr. cbnet". ;)
