Project manager problem - please help!

Hi all,

Im trying to get a set of athlete profiles set up for my club site, and after some looking around it appeared the Project Manager plugin would be the way of doing this.

However, after installed I am unable to add form fields and therefore cannot use it

Im hoping either someone can help with this problem or suggest another suitable plugin?

Have you looked into BuddyPress? If you're looking to setup simple profiles with form fields, this would be a great way to do it as BuddyPress allows you to do that OOB.

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Doesnt BuddyPress create a load of menus though...I installed it briefly and it created loads of these at the bottom of my design. Also would I be able to customise the displays and have them all set on static pages, i.e. like a roster for a sports team. Thanks again.

BuddyPress is just like WordPress in that you can customize all aspects of the software via templates. The stock installation of BP leaves a little to be desired, but it isn't really meant to be ran stock. Install, customize and make it your own, just as you would with WordPress.

All of the menus can be customized and the latest version supports the menu functionality in WordPress 3.x so you can actually remove the default tabbed menu just by creating a blank menu inside the WP ACP.

You'll still be able to create pages, posts and manage BP from within WordPress, it just adds an extra layer of functionality to the website. We use WordPress 3.x and BuddyPress 1.5 RC1 on our website right now and have multiple static pages running, in additional to the social networking aspect of BP.
