Default Plugin that adds current post from a category to sidebar

Does anyone know of a plugin that will allow me to add the current post from a particular category to the sidebar?

    Thanks so much!

You mean like this (see bottom right of the sidebar):

We basically just reconfigured the built in recent posts widget to show a small excerpt for posts of a particular category. However if you don't need an excerpt then the default recent posts widget should suffice?

Yes....that's it - with excerpt. How do I do that? It's for the right sidebar. Needs to go below or in place of the Ask Johanna button/image below "submit" button. By the way, if you have any idea why the Paradise Music banner and Ask Johanna image won't show in FF but will in every other browser including IE 5-7, please let me know :-). Most appreciated!!

It shows up fine in my Firefox. Perhaps you have some kind of content blocking going on?
