Top 1,000 Plugin Authors - Interesting list link on Twitter by @wpblackbelt.

The usual suspects are at the top of the list. Our own Otto is #79.

The most surprising for me? I show up on the list at #410.

(Who knew that forking MBP plugins would generate so many downloads?)

Of course, the vast majority of those are for a plugin that I'm not sure is even necessary anymore: Ping Optimizer. (Maybe that would be a good question for wp-hackers?)

Of course, if it's based on raw download numbers, then the plugins that are constantly updated are going to come out on top rather than the most popular plugins.

Ron is at 901, which is funny, as he's released a ton of plugins, they're just not all on the repo.

122 for me, slipped out of the top 100 - at least I think I was in there once.

And I'm at #556 on the list. It hasn't been updated since 5/24, so the download counts are off. Mine crossed 20K downloads yesterday.
