    Default Recomendation: Auto link keywords

    Hi people, first post here.
First place congrats to Jeff for the sucess of WP Tavern, altough i was one of the frist to register here i have zero participation in the forum, will try to visit more often in the future.

My question to you all is:

I Have a dozen of blogs in the same "network" all related to a news site and i am looking for a plugin that does this:

1-Replace some given keyords on post to a defined link. Example: replace wptavern with http://www.wptavern.com
2-It would be good if i could define to replace only in post published with xx days old.
3-Keyords replace "on the fly" (Not permantely in the database)

I´m sure there are plugins to do this, the affiliate people uses them, i am just looking for your recomendations

Sorry the bad English, dont have ENG spellcheck in this computer.

    Thanks in advance

Hmm, that would be pretty cool to have something like that built in. I wouldn't mind knowing if there is a good plugin that does this.

Search RegEx will do the find/replace part:
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/search-regex/

You could use a filter hook to dynamically replace keywords, etc without modifying the database. Here's a profanity filter script to show you how it could work:

I think you might be looking for something like the Internal Link Building plugin. To download it you'll need to subscribe to that site's feed to find the download link.

Not sure it's possible with just keyword, but you could definetly do it with shortcodes. Here's a tutorial I googled up for you: http://savvyblogging.net/using-wordp...and-save-time/

    Thanks people

    Has anyone tried this:
    http://www.prelovac.com/vladimir/wor...eo-smart-links
"Further SEO Smart links allows you to set up your own keywords and set of matching URLs."

Imagine i have several blogs about wordpress, what i wpuld like to do its to add the link to my main site about wordpress in the older posts containing the word wordpress.

I think it would benefit my main site rankings:

    wordpressthemes.com; wordpresschat.com;wordpressplugin.com, etc
    pointing to:
mainwordpresssite.com with the anchor text wordpress

What do you think people? I am sure there are very good plugins to manage this already done for the affiliate people. (replace pre-defined keywords with aff links)

Thanks again, very impressed with the replies i had

If there isn't anything out there already I could probably put together something crude to do this if you like.

I'm sure there are others that have a use for such a plugin and it wouldn't take long to make it. What Brad posted above would do the trick fine, although an admin panel back-end would be useful to allow users to add new words in directly rather than having to modify the plugin.

I'm not expert, but I don't think that shuffling internal links around your site will do anything to your rankings.

Now, having said that, you can drive your own page rank to specific pages, based on how you internally link your pages - so that, if you have one well-(externally-)linked, ranking page, you can pass your other pages' rank to that page.

But, you can't improve your overall page rank of your site by passing internal links around from page to page.

Default Real-Time Find and Replace plugin

I helped with the code of this plugin awhile back.

    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/...d-and-replace/

The only caveat is that it will match against everything on the page, not just what is in the post text. There is a basic admin panel in the backend for it.
