    Default GPL violation in WP's use of Kses - happy ending possible.

    As we had some discussion here about showing license and such, for kses.php I made a report in trac about the GPL violation. The original author has offered to re-instate rights in case certain conditions are met.

    I think the whole story is worth the read:

    Ticket #16039 - Copyright Problem: Original Copyright Statement, Licensing Information and Disclaimer removed from kses.php - that is the actual report of the GPL violation.

    I couldn't resist to write a post about it, in my article I'm going through the important parts of the GPL for the case again.

    And that's all because Matt asked to review kses.php. That's how things can turn out probably.

    Update: Looks like an happy ending is not only possible but near. Good day so far.
