    Default Any Fontmakers out there?

    Iīm very much into typography and it was always a hobby from me to design typefaces on paper... i already have some of them as vectors, that i can use them for headlines etc, but i havenīt really figured out how computer fontmaking works. Somebody there who knows about this stuff? Google sent me to a free fontmaking software that i didnīt understand one bit lol

    Try this place:
    http://www.yourfonts.com/

    It seemed pretty straightforward.

    I've used yourfonts.com and it's great. I easily made a font of my handwriting. I just wish I knew a practical purpose for it. :)
    Maybe I should call it Sans Illegible.
    For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

    Interesting. I'm always downloading new fonts but have never actually tried to design one.

    iīve decided to wait a little bit longer until i release my first font to the public because letter spacing was a bit off in the first files i created...

    Jeff, as i understand it, itīs against the forum rules when i post links to freebies i offer on my blog, right?.. or did i get that wrong? (hint hint, thereīs something up lol)
    Thatīs where i blog (working on the live site)
    Thatīs where i tweet (i post all kind of useless stuff)

    We've covered this already off the forum but, you have your own thread in the resources section to give away freebies to your hearts content.

    With regards to font making, I've never given it a try either. I have read tutorials on how to use software to make the vectors but I've never gone through with it before. As for getting new fonts, I'm always checking out http://www.dafont.com :)

    Heres one: http://www.high-logic.com/fontcreator.html

    Its not free but looks cool.

    There is also a free font maker in windows:

    http://www.downloadsquad.com/2005/09...or-in-windows/
    The lord of every land, rising for them,
    The Aton of the day, great of majesty.

    Great Hymn of the Aton

    Code:
    <WIN-R>
    eudcedit.exe
    <Enter>
    "Private Character Editor" ... I love little Windows Easter Eggs.

    Just confirmed it exists in Windows Vista Ultimate.

    Thanks! Don't know what I'd do with it, but still a great little find!
