just to give you an update on what iīve tried so far:

yourfont.com first looks great and promising but sadly they try to correct mistakes their users make too much, which screws up the letter spacing. Itīs pretty unpreditable how letterspacing will come out and after altering a font for 10 times it still came out exactly the same way, that was frustrating.

fontforge is a free editor, bad thing about it is that you have to install cygwin (erm yeah, kind of a linux environment for windows? not sure about what it is lol) and its just tooo complicated for the average user to get even started. i got it running but with that different environment it just felt strage, it slowed down my workflow. But if you are looking for an editor that gives you freedom in the font design, this one would probably be the best free choice that there is

iīm still not sure what iīm gonna go with, i watched a video about that old macromedia fontographer, looked like i could handle it and iīm bidding on a used copy of it on ebay.
Thatīs where i blog (working on the live site)
Thatīs where i tweet (i post all kind of useless stuff)

Just made my own font using http://www.yourfonts.com. Pretty cool stuff
The lord of every land, rising for them,
The Aton of the day, great of majesty.

    Great Hymn of the Aton

Yourfont is awesome, though no longer free. Good thing I used it to make http://michaeltorbert.com/blog/sans-illegible/ a while back already.
    :)
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?
