What's New With You?
So after sending out an email nudging people to check in, (over 850 registered users with less than 5 posts) this thread exists for us to tell each other what is it we've been up to.
As for myself. I'm going to start working on the second house next Monday in the hopes of getting it on the market come the end of Spring. Meanwhile, I'm saving up money to get a new roof on the house I'll be living in in the future. All of this while trying to get re-established with WPTavern.com

Moving. Monday. I made a list of everything to do in April, May, June and July... I'll breath after WordCamp Montreal, which I have a serious plan of making.

I'm starting a WordPress User Group in Cardiff, UK, since you ask. ;)
I'm also gearing up to launch a WP blog that will feature short films from around the web, plus I'm going to move my personal blog from Posterous to either a wordpress.com or a self-hosted WP blog in coming months.
I've not been much of a presence on these forums, but hopefully I will start showing up a lot more now I have some actual WP projects on the go. :)

I spent a whole day trying to upgrade a bbPress install, without a lot of success. Maybe I need to be drunk to do this.

I signed up ages ago, but I think I'm going to stick around considering the publicity Jeffro gave me following the launch of my new blog WPCode.

I've been working as the Online Marketing Manager for the Charity Marketing Group, a company that runs Hospital Lotteries in Canada and the USA. I'm also their IT person, and web development person. They went from using three different firms to just me.

I live in a part of New Zealand that feels the earthquakes from just about every other part of NZ and I've now got so jumpy over earthquakes that I'm re-evaluating my life and considering where I want to live in the world. At the moment, the plan is - win the lottery, pack up and go
Apart from that, I'm engaged in a fun challenge - creating a mobile site that progressively enhances to desktop. Responsive design is easy to do but all the content has to be refactored for smaller pages and the challenges posed by font choices are mind-boggling. Still, it keeps me out of mischief
Sad thing is, this is the first design/development challenge that has had me excited in awhile. I can sense a career change coming on.

After partnering up with Scott Bolinger (a talented graphics designer) and releasing our first commercial WordPress theme in January, it is onto the next one, this time a business theme! No rest for the wicked! Am currently spending several hours a day wrestling with theme code, just popping my head up occasionally to tweet and read what's going on at the Tavern!
We are aiming for quality over quantity, and are both agreed that we don't want to become just another theme factory churning out loads of themes (i.e. basically pretty 'skins')! Beyond our current theme, we will look at other niche areas for potential themes such as video, photo/portfolio, another business theme, CMS, health and beauty, or other types that there is a demand for.
You can take a sneaky peek at our new business theme design here, which should be ready for release in about a months time: http://twitpic.com/44uh51
I am really enjoying working on WordPress projects full-time now and it's giving me a chance to really get deeper into the code. Hopefully several months from now I might even know what I am talking about when it comes to the inner workings of WordPress! Oh, and to be able to start contributing to WordPress core by the end of the year would be pretty cool too. :)

I am expecting our third child (finally the boy after two girls) in the next 2 - 3 weeks all while hoping to change my theme from Thesis to something that I have not found yet!
Cheers!
