Has anyone else seen permalinks break when you upgrade a 2.8.0 site using the new one-click button? I just want to see if I am the only one before I post on the bugtracker.
thanks,
Danny
EDIT: changed permacodes to permalinks

Do you mean permalinks, or is there something else called permacodes?
Permalinks work fine for me (never heard of permacodes before today).
Think he means Permalinks.
Maybe try WordPress 2.8.1 which just came out? Or do a manual update of 2.8 over your old 2.8 files.

You are right, I meant permalink. Who knows what happened. I may add another install and upgrade it too just to see if I can reproduce it. I had just installed it within an hour of when the new version was released.
You may be able to fix it just by revisiting the permalinks page, and maybe resaving the options.
(this has happened in WPMU a few times)
I was upgrading from 2.8.0 to 2.8.1. I tried coping (rsync) the new 2.8.1 files over the 2.8.0, and that did not fix it. I had just worked on this install on our local intranet machine (self hosting on debian that I maintain), so I just blew it away and started from fresh. I have the same problem with a clean install. I suspect it may not be wordpress, but the way I setup the apache config file. Thanks for all y'all's help. Can't tell I was born in Texas, can ya?
thanks,
Danny
I upgraded WPTavern.com last night from 2.8 to 2.8.1 and checked my permalinks and they are working just fine so it's not a bug.
It was on my end, I had to edit my apache site info. It works fine now.
thanks,
Danny
