Inquisitr No Fan Of WordPress

Who is Inquisitr, and why should we care what his opinion of anything is?

a: a site that's not really all that important (trust me on this!)
b: not really. Although it's always worth listening to criticism, even if it's wrong, because it can still be perversely valuable.

Duncan Riley wrote up a similar bashing post when 200 themes were removed from the repository basically along the same lines as this one claiming Automattic wanted to keep from anyone profiting through WordPress.

This guy used to write for TechCrunch back in the day but the Inquisitr is his new project. It gets alot of traffic and believe it or not, Duncan has a bit of influence. But like Will Anderson said, considering the nature of the site, everything reads like a dumb tabloid magazine so I guess I shouldn't be too upset.

What angers me most about this post is the last paragraph regarding WordPress needs to be forked because of the commercial interests of Automattic are interfering with WordPress.org. I think most if not all of us here in the forum know this not to be the case.

Don't rush to speak for everyone. I believe that the commercial interests of Automattic do effect WordPress and the WordPress.org project. Maybe not always in a negative way, but the influence is definitely there.

Other than that... "booo!!!"
