Thanks for that info. I think it would help if that information was there on the showcase page - we can't all keep up with every WordCamp :-)

Telecoms.com is a classic case of WP as a full-on CMS - mostly through theme code, rather than separate plugins, as it makes for a single 'module' that the client has to think about.

We're writing a case study of it for when we launch our new website, and will be doing that for all major sites were heavily involved with in the future. Should help get the information out there :-)

Hey Dave, give this a watch as it's from WordCamp Chicago with Douglas Hanna giving an overview of the Showcase.

    Hi all,

To save you having to watch my presentation to get the same information, the submission criteria for the Showcase is listed on the submit a site page.

The criteria listed there is the same criteria I mentioned in my presentation and that is used when considering submissions.

JLeuze's post (#8) pretty much covers it as well. The subject nature of the site (funny or dry) doesn't matter, though. We have some very, very serious sites in the Showcase and some very, very funny sites in there as well. As long as it meets one of the four aspects of the criteria, the subject matter doesn't really matter. Like he said, providing more information is definitely helpful.

Dave, if you think the site you submitted should be looked at again, feel free to re-submit it and include a note in the submission that you'd like an email about the reason it was or was not added. I want to be as open and transparent about the process as possible and am more than happy to let you know.

Andrea, the typical submission to add time is one week or so for sites that are added. Sites that aren't added aren't notified.

If anyone else has any other questions or ideas for the Showcase, feel free to let me know. I'll keep checking back on this thread and responding as people have questions.

    Cheers,
    Douglas Hanna

Welcome to the forum Doug, it's good to hear that I wasn't steering anyone down the wrong path.

Now I just have to come up with a good Showcase-worthy project!

How cool is that to hear right from the horses mouth? Thanks for joining the forum Doug and giving us the deets on the showcase submission guidelines.

Thanks Doug for that valuable post! I'll resubmit in due course, perhaps with a fuller description of why the site should be listed.

Got other things that are about to burst onto the scene that I know you'll just love - we're working a lot with newspapers right now, and interest in WP from that sector is simply enormous. A lot of it is to do with the productivity benefits for their journalists over the clunky systems others are using.
