WordCamp Chicago Thread

This thread is for everyone that is attending the WordCamp Chicago event this weekend. I'll be bunking with the Web Dev Studios team at the Holiday Inn that was suggested on the event FAQ page.

I typed Pizza into Google for our area and about 5-6 pizzerias

I'll be in Chicago before late afternoon, hoping 4-5 PM. I think Brad is coming into Chicago later but I think we'll be hungry for some food that evening. Maybe we can meet up and head to a local pizza shop or something

I land in Chicago at 7 and will be looking for pizza and beer directly after dropping my bags off at the hotel. Let the pre-party planning begin!

I say we go for a walk and hit up Lou Malnati's Pizzeria the reviews of this place make it seem like it's awesome. Not that bad of a walk either.

Lou's pizza is DELICIOUS. I spent over $100 last year on their pizza just to feed a crowd of gamers at Games Plus in Mount Prospect.

As for me, I won't be able to attend the party. I'll be taking the bus from my brother's place early Saturday morning ($1.75) to the Aurora Transportation Center and from there taking the train to Union Station ($5.00 - weekend pass).

Well, that and I haven't been paid yet, so money's pretty tight at the moment.

Dan man you gotta come have some pizza Friday with us! My company is buying a bunch of pizzas so come have a few slices with an old SPF buddy! :)

Oh man.. I went to Chicago this spring and *loved* it. alas, I have not yet been paid for it, so the whole going back part is well out of my range. :-/

But someday I would definitely love to.

(although I could live without being so familiar with some portions of O'hare...)

The rocketgenius team will also be attending WordCamp Chicago (myself, Kevin Flahaut and Alex Cancado). We are staying at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, close to the venue for the event.

We already have plans for dinner, can't pass up Fogo de Chao, which if you have never been I HIGHLY recommend it. It is not far from the Holiday Inn in downtown and is an amazingly good Brazilian steakhouse.

It is a required stop for us whenever we travel on business, atleast if it is to a major city where they have a location. Our goal is to visit every one in the U.S. :)

Anyway, looking forward to the event and meeting everyone.

Can't wait to release more information and maybe show off our upcoming premium plugin release. Jeffro has seen a screencast of it... so he knows a little about what I am talking about. Great stuff.
