Default Yoast (Joost de Valk) and StudioPress (Brian Gardner) get together...

Interesting to see the news about Yoast and StudioPress getting together.

This kind of thing is likely to happen more and more. Most of the themes clubs were collaborations of previous popular marketeers and GPL themes developers. With the ease of virtual business possible in the sector this makes a certain kind of sense - especially to product based businesses.

It's happening in other ways too - in the UK you have a few strong players in the public sector area, us at Interconnect IT who are doing very well in news organisations now, and some others doing well in the celebrity business.

Exciting times for WordPress - these alliances serve to show how the market is developing. One person alone can't effectively run a lot of these businesses any more.

Thanks Dave, Brian and myself are going to try and beat everyone's expectations (though that'll probably be hard ;) )

It looks like the SEO qualities of current and future StudioPress themes just went up a few notches. Congrats Joost. You're now part of a company that has one heck of a reputation :)

Congrats to Joost and Brian! They're both standup guys, and the real winners in this will be the StudioPress users.
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

Seems like there are lots of great things ahead for StudioPress and having Joost further optimize the themes and code is great news. Hoping everything stays nice and simple though as that is one of the main reasons I use StudioPress themes.

The Aton of the day, great of majesty.
