Automattic Acquires Another Company

On WordPress Weekly, I discussed an interview that took place between Matt Mullenweg and TechCrunch outside of the Next Web Conference In Amsterdam. In that interview, Matt mentioned that they (Automattic) were interested in picking up some more companies in the future but he didn't hint at anything. Today I learned that Automattic has acquired a company called Blo.gs

Both Matt Mullenweg and Toni Schneider had things to say regarding the acquisition from Yahoo. I checked out the site and it looks like a pinging service with a few different features when compared with Ping-O-Matic. I'm not sure of the reasoning behind acquiring the site/service unles Matt was offered a dirt cheap price for it and wanted to pick it up because he's always been a fan of it.

Nah, no way they would do that. Probably keep them separate or integrate them in the future into one product.
