    Icon14 Media System Revamp

I encourage everyone to check out Shanes wireframe proposal to restructure the media management system in WordPress for 2.9.

    http://bugssite.org/blog/2009/04/11/...wordpress-29x/

I have a blog post on the WPTavern site with the cliff note version of the proposal but I like what I see so far, especially with regards to associates and the ability to organize content much better than what we have currently.

The current media management system is a big improvement over what we previously had but as is with most things there is always room for further enhancements.

I seen only a change between able to browse images in filters between 'Images, Documents, and Audio' and Flash upload. That's about it though...

That all looks quite promising. Although I'd much rather see a system implemented whereby we could control what folder things are being uploaded to. I hate having all my documents in the same folder as my images. It makes my URL's look weird.

If we were to do that, I think it be the largest upgrade script to transfer files by type and the reorder the database plus posts to reflect that. I can just think of the headaches now. :D
