Default Going live - Switching URL's around

I have built a site for a new music artist who's currently featuring fairly well known artists, meaning the original site I set up for him (as a newbie artist) is now gaining a fair amount of traffic.

The new site has been built on a sub domain and should be going live on his original domain sometime next week.

Normally my sites are set up as new so I rarely run into too many issues but I've never had to swap domains around...

The following process needs to happen.

New Web site www.originalsitedomain.com/artist needs to now run from www.originalsitedomain.com

    * the original site is also at the root of the web folder, so my wordpress is using the testdomain given by my host but both artist domain and my test one point to same files.

i.e. my settings in wordpress are : http://testdomain1134987345.home.co.uk/artist

Is there any way to do this smoothly ?

I know I can point the domain to the sub folder, but the file paths etc would still point to www.originalsitedomain.com/artist?

Any help, guidance would be appreciated

Point the domain to the subfolder and run an SQL query to update the URLs.

    Here's a tutorial: http://webtide.wordpress.com/2010/10...ordpress-site/
