    Default Saving WPTavern

As many of you might of read, Jeff is quitting.

I told him long long time ago that he shouldn't do WPT & WPWeekly alone.

Searching for topics to talk about (both on podcast and blog) can take a lot of time.

I have seen WP communities come and go but something about WPT that I can't let it go.

I have gotten help from a lot of you, including Jeff, and I am thinking about how we can help Jeff and keeping WPT/W alive.

Would you be willing to help out? There is more than clicking on the paypal donate button.

Would you be willing to co-author posts? help with the podcasts?

What about taking over WPT so it doesn't die?

Jeff hinted in his post that this was not the end of WPT. He may have a buyer for the site. I guess we will have to wait and see. The best and longest lived WP blogs and podcasts require the combined efforts of multiple individuals. I'm thinking of WP Candy and WordCastNet. However, developing a partnership and maintaining it requires time and energy, more than it sounds like Jeff could provide at this time, so we will have to wait and see what transpires.

I assume Jeff has found a buyer based on his post. I"m hoping it is WP Candy who have mentioned the possibility of launching a forum at some point. Fingers crossed.
There's no alternative forum to go to at the moment and it'd be sad to see all these posts go to waste.

Where's the subscribe button to sign up to WordPress Weekly? For a few bucks a month I would sign up right now.. ;-)

I'm sure there's a business model for you in the WordPress Weekly show Jeff. It is way better than any other WP podcast I have listened to. How about you produce the show as normal and release the broadcast free 24-48 hrs after the show has been recorded (say in it's usual Saturday slot). So release it free on Monday mornings, say.

But.. To listen to the live show, get access to after show content, maybe including archives (including a free WP Weekly t-shirt!) etc. you charge a subscription. Just an idea. Other people may have better ones how you can monetize it.

I really miss WordPress Weekly, I would definitely pay to see it return. Just a few hundred subscribers at $5 - $10 a month would make this a sustainable income for you?

    Who else wants to sign-up?

It was my favourite podcast as well. Because of my workload I didn't normally get the chance to listen in live and had to settle for downloading and listening later but I'd gladly opt in to a subscription model.

dgwyer. Jeff should at least make a poll on how many would want to subscribe and how much they would like to pay.
