    Icon5 2.95 A Month?

Saw a press release for a Green environmentally friendly webhost and noticed that they have pricing down to $2.95 per month.

While I was going to ask you folks what you thought about the price, I noticed that there is a $4.95 one time setup fee for that plan bringing the cost to $7.90 for the first month. Anyways, how long before they over share their servers? Do you think it would even be worth it to get webhosting from them at that price or just go to WordPress.com?

Can you get by with 1GB disk space, and 2GB of bandwidth?

(I can't find it on their site, but I'm guessing that they keep server resource usage equally restricted, too.)

You get what you pay for in hosting, and the differences are even greater when you get to the extreme low-end like this.

At that price, they are betting that they'll have a lot of very low usage customers. You may get lucky that you are the only one with a site that gets any traffic and has content, but it's unlikely.

They don't need to oversell their servers to achieve that price, they just need to be very aggressive at booting people off when they breach whatever resource restrictions they have, provide poor support or limit what features are on the server.

You get what you pay for. They'll be restricting it in some way, some how. Or as you suggested, letting the server bog down mega slow instead.
