I don't mind people subscribing to my FeedBurner feed via email. There is a nice FeedBurner alternative called Feedblitz. It's not free but if you don't have many subscribers the cost is under $2 per month.

It's a good idea to give people options. Personally I'm very active on social media and I follow all of the bloggers that I want to keep up with on Twitter. Every now and then I end up missing important updates and when that happens I will subscribe by email - but I always go to the blog to read the post. On the other hand many of the bloggers I know use RSS readers (mostly Google) to follow blogs.
