Umm Andrea posted this link in another thread, but New Project - SupportPress would appear to include something to do with WP E-Commerce, so well, it might be possible! ;)

Hmm, I wonder if they would ever consider acquiring something like a CDN or developing one themselves and charging to use it. Would be a nice add-on to their complementary SaaS model. Would be cool if it tied into W3 Total Cache real easy as well.
The other thing to take note of is any individual out there that is working on something cool that is platform agnostic aka After The Deadline or at the time, BuddyPress. My radar for something like this is broken and generally, I'm surprised every time they acquire someone because it's the least expected but it always makes sense.
Definitely not platform agnostic. It's always required at least WP, and until 1.2 only worked on WPMU.
