Just a heads up for those of you with support forums. I had a spammer post the following comment twice in my support forum today:

I initially approved one of them (they posted as a guest), but then I realised that the topic they were replying to was no longer a problem as I had fixed the bug they were referring to. On looking at the link, it seemed like a legit comment, but further down the page it turns out they're advertising a paid system for fixing such issues.

So spammers appear to be directly targetting WordPress support issues now Grrrrrrrr

Oh, I recognize the site name too. Not from spam, but from threads at the mu support forum. The last couple were kind of rude, like "Don't answer unless you can give me a step by step video tutorial I can follow".

Times like these I wanna say, Dude, don't be That Guy.

So, I thought an easy solution would be just to blacklist "sitesires.com" in comment moderation - but then I realized that bbPress doesn't have nearly the features of WordPress in that regard. :(

I don't think I can blacklist link domains in SMF either unfortunately.

There might be a mod for it, but I'm not about to bother just for a one-off spammer.

Spammers must be getting bored if they are targeting support forums lol.
