Ryan, do you have access to the code for his theme framework? If so, what about a group of us finishing the work Dan started and release it to the WordPress community to honor his memory? I'd be willing to kick in some time on the project and I'm quite sure others would be willing to as well.

I like this idea.

Dan has about 31 posts here on this forum and they are part of his online activity trail. I'd like to know what your thoughts are on modifying the account and changing the user title to something like RIP with a date or adding some other special info to the profile?

I'll see what I can find. He hadn't posted the latest version online but I'm sure someone out there must have a copy of it.

I discussed this with Dan's best friend who didn't think that Dan would want us releasing his framework since it was not complete.

I might try to track down a copy and implement some of it into my own work as a way of at least making sure it is put to good use. He did give me permission to do that, so no problems there. Unfortunately I never kept a copy of it as I just downloaded a new version from his site whenever he asked me to review it and I don't seem to have kept hold of any of them. I always knew I could just email to request a copy of the latest build so never though to keep any of them :(
