Making Jeff some money

I'd be all for contributing to assist Jeff and his cause. I'd also love it if we could get some better WP-logo'd coffee mugs. I have a complaint about them.

Yes.

Even money says that they won't be bundled in the download, but available as separate downloads and/or live on wp.org with help links to them from the core.

Size of the total WP download is a bit of a sticking point among some core devs.

I'd be far more likely to but Tavern gear than WP gear. A WP Tavern T-shirt would be nice :)

Playing devil's advocate on merchandise ideas, there is probably only a very small audience for WP Tavern or WP merch.

I think there would be enough to demand to justify putting a small link somewhere on the site for us to purchase T-shirts from.

To make it more professional, you should install an e-Commerce plugin and sell them via that. Then when an order comes through, just manually purchase them through CafePress or similar. That way it looks like you are selling proper stuck rather than just piggy backing on an off the shelf system. Looks more professional and therefore might bring more purchases. iFrame'd eShops always look dodgy to me.

Ebook wont work, cause WP will come bundled with them.

T-shirts + WP beer mugs. Make it the cult WP beer mug. Ask Matt& co for rights to sell 1000 copies of WP beer mugs to support WP-Tavern. The WP logo is what might make it sellable at WordCamps and online.

I'd certainly buy these T-shirts and beer mugs. The official WordPress store is somewhat lacking. I'd also purchase items with the WP Tavern logo.

Kind of a lukewarm response to my idea. Themes and merch aren't really my thing, but I can write and edit to a decent level of quality so I guess let me put it this way...

If I posted an ebook outline (like a list of sections/chapters) and you had a blog post in your archives that could roughly fit that section, would you donate it for the ebook?

I'm all for shirts, but from somewhere other than CafePress. They keep raising prices to the point of ridiculousness. I'm sure there's other decent shirt shops out there with a better profit margin for Jeff. $25 for a tshirt and no extra is nuts.
