No blog posts showing in activity stream

I've had a goodgle for this problem, but the solution I found doesn't unfortunately work for us. The answer that I uncovered was that blogs that are not set to be found by search engines and public listings on signup, don't appear in the activity stream. However, I'm 100% that the test blogs I've been using are set to do so, so the problem isn't that...unfortunately!

What we're finding is that everything apart from blog posts and blog comments is appearing in our global activity stream. You can find it here but the page is still 'private' so to speak http://bit.ly/ciW1sP

In my head I'm thinking it's probably a plugin issue but we have soo many, I wouldn't know where to start!

I have installed, but not run, the BP Import Blog Activity plugin

I realise you may laugh at me for this - but the problem isn't because I've installed it as a plugin rather than a mu plugin is it?

If it does need to be installed as a mu plugin, how do I actually do it?! Such an amateur question I know, but I'm just having one of those days!
