ck Pulls The Plug?

I have no idea what is going on with bbPress but some of the stuff happening recently doesn't look good, despite that future thread Matt published.

and there are people responding. From everything I know, bbPress is not a dead project. It just needs alot of loving right now.

ck is refunding donations she recently received. It's too bad ck was never brought on board to be a paid employee to with alongside Sam to work on the software. It seems to me that she has lost interest and is not happy about the project, lack of leadership, etc.

That's really too bad. ck's plugins were great and I know some people (like myself) probably wouldn't use bbPress without them.

Isn't Automattic's TalkPress service based on bbPress? I mentioned this on Twitter too, but surely they would have some interest in maintaining the project? Sure doesn't seem that way though.

My chats with matt definitely give me the feeling that the project is not dead. I've heard rumors that someone else within automattic may chip in for the time being but who that is, I don't know. Yep, talkpress is built ontop of bbpress.

Wow, I'm speechless. All I know is ck went above and beyond the call of duty for bbPress. Something is going on behind the scenes.

ck is a huge loss to that project - what a shame automattic weren't able (or willing) to get her on board professionally

I hope it doesn't disappear. I'm a fan of bbpress as well and with buddypress a simple forum system is almost required. Let's hope there's some positive news soon.

I believe Sam had tried to get _CK_ to submit core patches in the past but it never happened. So I can see why she would have never have been taken on as a core dev.

I guess she just liked churning out bazillions of plugins instead.

From the bbshowcase.org notice, one can only speculate if these words "The removal of Sam Bauers and the halting of bbpress.org 2.0" can be taken literally.

Did Sam leave or was he "removed"? Was the new bbpress.org site "halted"?

I'll end this post with another question:
If Matt extended an olive branch to _ck_, would she take up the project?
