ck Pulls The Plug?

I think those words are filled with ck's opinions or assumptions as to what happened. As far as I know, Sam didn't enjoy working on a project where it received little attention when compared to some of the other projects and he was left to deal with the entire project that thousands of people were using. I don't think Sam was fired but I think he stepped away from Automattic. Not sure if this is still true or not but last I heard, he was still associated with the project, just not as an Automattic employee.

I don't think ck knows the behind the scenes info regarding what happened which leads to the notice we read on the showcase site. Automattic does not make public what they do with their employees when either they step down or are fired. They leave it up to the employee to do that.

I'd really like to know if any olive branch was offered to ck now or within the past 2 years. Based on her blog, it's apparent that at times, she really disagrees with Matt or Automattic on the way certain decisions are made or how things are done. I see no problem with that but I wonder if other people do.

I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post the contents of the email here or not ... so I won't.

But I just received an email from Matt Mullenweg outlining a new plan of attack for the bbPress project and it appears that Matt himself is taking the lead in the development of it himself. The project appears to be far from dead :)

Got the same email. It sounds like Matt's going to be very involved in the entire project, at least for a while. Maybe we can get this thing rolling again.

It'd be nice if something was posted either on the blog, or in the forum, that *actually* states what will be happening! I mean, at the end of the day, while it's still a small number of people in regards to WordPress, there are still many people that use bbPress and would like to continue using it! - Like me, I'd like to use it! :D

It sounds like the folks who responded in his thread for helping out are the ones who received the email. As for myself, I haven't received anything but I imagine it will go public soon enough. But I wouldn't mind an advanced forwarded copy :)

Yeah, the email I was referring to seemed to be sent to all those who have expressed an interest in helping out with the project.

I don't really have the necessary skills to help out in the areas being looked at for developing though unfortunately. Hopefully some of the others on the list have the necessary skills to get things moving.
